Monk seals and green sea turtles
(both endangered) beach here, and the winter whale watching
is spectacular from the trailhead. The Kilauea Lighthouse
is down the road in old Kilauea town, the northern most point
of the island, with excellent views and guided tours.
After a busy day of exploring the
island, Birdsong Cottage's peaceful setting welcomes you. Take a moonlight soak in the outdoor tub, or a soothing hot shower in the privacy of the outdoor Balinese enclosure. We have
a tropical hardwood grove, citrus orchard, coconut trees, avocados, mangos,
bananas, papayas, lychee, noni, passionfruit and an organic vegetable garden, all available
to you when in season. Catering a special meal, in-house massages
with some of the island's best therapists and privately guided
tours of the island can all be arranged with advance notice.
